Our Beliefs

As a church, we want to clearly state what we believe and stand behind it.

These are our core beliefs—about God, people, the Bible, the Church, and the return of Christ.

They are the foundation of our faith.

This is what we believe.

God

We believe the God of the Bible is the one true God. He has always existed and reveals Himself as

three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are perfectly united as one God.

(Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, 1 Corinthians 8:6)

We believe Jesus is fully God. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life, died on the cross to pay

for our sins, rose from the dead in His physical body, returned to heaven, and will one day come back again.

(Luke 1:31, Luke 1:35John 1:1, John 14:6, 1 Corinthians 15:3-5, 2 Corinthians 5:21)

We believe the Holy Spirit works in the world to help people realize their need for Jesus. He comes to live

in every believer at the moment they are saved. The Holy Spirit gives Christians strength to live for God,

helps them understand spiritual truth, guides them to do what is right, and gives them spiritual gifts to

help accomplish God’s purposes as they follow Him.

(John 14:16-17, John 14:26Galatians 4:6)

People

We believe that Adam and Eve were created, male and female, by an immediate act of God.

In the beginning, they lived in close relationship with God. They were created to bring glory to

God and to enjoy a relationship with Him forever. Because people are made in God’s image,

we are aware of ourselves and able to think, choose, and make decisions freely.

(Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 5:1-2)

We believe Adam and Eve chose to disobey God after being deceived by Satan. Because of that

choice, their close relationship with God was broken, and sin and death entered the world, both

physical and spiritual. This disobedience affected all people, so everyone is born with a sinful

nature that leads us to sin. Every person is guilty before God and needs His forgiveness.

(Genesis 3, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12)

We believe anyone can have a right relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. When a

person confesses and turns from their sin and trusts in Jesus, they are saved by God’s grace,

become a child of God, and are given the promise of eternal life.

(John 3:16, John 3:36, Romans 6:23)

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God and is the unchanging

authority in all matters of how we are to live according to our faith and earthly conduct.

(2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)

The Church

We believe Jesus is the head and leader of the Church. The Church is made up of people

who follow Him and want their whole lives to honor God. God uses the Church as His main

way to show His love, share the good news of Jesus, and carry out His plans in the world.

(Matthew 28:18-20, Ephesians 1:21-23, Ephesians 2:19-20, Colossians 1:18, Hebrews 10:23-25)

The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus will physically come back one day. He will take His people, the Church,

to be with Him forever, and He will also return to rule over and judge the whole world.

(Mark 13:32, John 14:31 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Hebrews 9:28, Revelation 22:12)
